“It has been an interesting journey since University of Houston days:

Behavior Psychology came in handy for being an LPGA tour caddie.

“Behavior Psychology” came in handy for a tour caddie!

  • My degree in Behavioral Psychology was put to good use when, immediately after graduation, I packed my bags and became a professional tour caddie on the LPGA circuit.
  • Eventually it was time to move from the fairways of the LPGA into the world of Radio/TV Broadcast Advertising Sales.
  • Looking for new streams of sales revenue I asked myself, “If Radio and TV do such a great job of selling products and services, why aren’t companies using them to recruit quality employees?
  • Using lessons from those Behavioral Psych classes at UH, I modified existing broadcast advertising paradigms and created innovative strategies for using Radio and TV commercials to deliver more effective Employee Recruitment advertising programs. (Recruitment and Retail advertising strategies differ significantly due to contrasting goals and metrics.)

  • Long story short, it worked! Whether hiring for 5 or 500, my behavior-based strategies grabbed the attention of passive job seekers and had them knocking on doors of employers all over town. Instead of recruiters spending countless man hours tracking down potential candidates, the candidates were now lining up in droves to see the recruiters!
  • Seeing these kinds of results, companies started asking us to apply my behavior-based approach to their B2B and Retail advertising programs, too!
  • Demand for our services grew to a point where, in 2000, I opened my own consulting firm, Mitton Media.
  • Today, twenty-five years after the first recruitment advertising program hit the airwaves, Mitton Media remains the only advertising firm in North America to offer Radio and TV Employment Classifieds as a specialty.
  • We have also expanded our media capabilities and services far beyond Radio & TV to now include every major media platform, including Digital Advertising.
